A few people have emailed me asking questions about the data analysis I conducted for my recent article, “Public opinion and the politics of the killer robots debate.” The article was published in Research & Politics, a great new academic journal devoted to “open access publication of the very best cutting-edge research and policy analysis.” Through a grant from the Carnegie Corporation, Research & Politics is able to make its articles open to the public.
Thus, I am happy to say that all of the relevant information concerning my survey results and data analysis is available online in a way that will hopefully be easily accessible.
First, there is a supplementary appendix to the article that contains summary statistics, additional tests, regression results, and other robustness tests that might be of interest to readers.
Second, the full replication data, including the raw survey data, the computer code for processing the data, and computer code to fully generate the results in the paper and in the supplementary appendix, is available as well. Just go here, read the replication instructions pdf, and you will be on your way.
If you are interested and check it out, also please let me know if you have any questions!
